Number 6 of the seven book series is now complete! As I sit here writing this review I am watching the movie. Both are wonderful! There aren’t many times that I prefer to go back and re-read books, only because there are so many titles in my TBR list and it never feels fair to “waste” time on books I’ve read before.
With that being said, I am so happy to have spent the past few months on the Harry Potter series and I only have one more to read to complete the set.
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince brings us closer to the end of the ongoing battle between good and evil. In this book, Harry is in his sixth year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Professor Dumbledore is back and begins teaching Harry private lessons to learn more about Lord Voldemort’s past. This is due to the prophecy that said Harry either has to kill or be killed by He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named.
I’ve always felt the last three books are when the series becomes more sinister as Harry and his friends get closer to learning more about the Dark Lord. However, Harry also finds out who his true friends are. Neville and Luna especially become wonderful allies.
The addition of the love potion and all the new love interests is fun and right on cue for a school full of teenagers.
Follow along in February as I read the last and final book of the series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
