Where do I even start? When I finish a book in happy tears I’m at a loss for words. Moving, entertaining, and emotionally charged, this book had me angry for women, mind-blown at the out-of-nowhere twist, and bawling at the end.
Meagan Church is an amazing author. She left no stone unturned. There were no plot holes. Her story was engaging and left me a different person than I was before starting this book (In a good way). I could not set this book down!
I’m both nostalgic for the simple life and decor of the 1950s, and ultra thankful to not have had to experience the life and expectations put on women during that time period. (Just say no to sleeping in uncomfortable curlers and wearing make-up every day!)
Lu-Lu felt so real to me. I understand not feeling like sticking to a cleaning schedule. I relate to not wanting to be the one who is always responsible for having enough groceries in the house and a meal on the table. The planning ahead mentality is too much for someone who generally just wants to be in the moment most days (Hi! That’s me!)
While I understand every book is not for every reader, I still highly, highly recommend this book, especially if you are a woman.
